Dodger Stadium Has Been Transformed Into Topgolf For The Weekend – 洛杉矶周报 – 亚洲版

Dodger Stadium and Topgolf have teamed for a pop-up where golf fanatics can grab a driver and hit some shots onto the iconic baseball field.

The pop-up while short—running through Sunday— is a prelude to Topgolf’s expansion into El Segundo and Ontario, California.

“We wanted everybody to have a little preview of the Topgolf experience before we open the two newest venues that we have in Ontario and El Segundo,” Topgolf’s Head of Communications, Kara Barry, told L.A. Weekly. “In addition to that, we just wanted people to come out and have a good time in a pretty unique and unexpected way. What better way to do that than to set up hitting bays at Dodger Stadium?”

Those unfamiliar with Topgolf, the concept is similar to a driving range, but with some high-tech perks and a casual party-like atmosphere.

The Dodger Stadium pop-up has its 26 bays set up on the loge level, with “Toptracer” cameras positioned around the stadium, measuring the distance of balls hit.

The Toptracer technology is the same that is used in professional golfing and shows viewers a golfer’s digital shot distance on live TV.

For the pop-up, each bay has a screen where participants can enter their names, track their games and see how far they’ve hit each ball.

Targets have been placed directly on the stadium field from 60 to 140 yards, with golf fans attempting to get their name on the Dodger Stadium scoreboard as a top-5 shooter.

“There’s really this energy, this vibe you get from our Topgolf venues,” Barry added. “You don’t need to know how to play golf… or you could be the best golfer in the world. We just want you to come and have a good time. There’s food, drinks, music and an energy you feel when you walk into the venue, where it’s this technology-driven experience that you can only get at Topgolf.”

While exact opening dates for the new Topgolf locations have not been set, the Ontario location is expected to have its grand opening in mid-March, with the El Segundo location expected to follow in mid-to-late April.
