Nightlife impresario Sam Nazarian, founder and CEO of the global hospitality group sbe, and his Disruptive Restaurant Group have resurrected Hyde Sunset Kitchen + Cocktails, ground zero for the modern Hollywood nightlife scene that helped launch the Paris Hilton/Britney Spears and Kim Kardashian era. The iconic paparazzi magnet that was once the landmark Coconut Teaszer on Sunset Blvd. will re-open on Friday, September 17.
Just as the ladies have matured, the famed venue will open with a refreshed interior design and a new elevated dinner menu of classic Italian dishes like signature steaks cooked on the woodfire grill, chicken parmesan to share and a variety of starters and pastas including a spicy lobster spaghetti. And the beat goes on.
Award-winning mixologist Yael Vengroff, sbe’s Head of Bars & Mixology Programming, has refreshed Hyde’s cocktail offerings. In addition to helming the bar program of Disruptive Restaurant Group’s Katsuya and S Bar, Vengroff has run the bar program at Los Angeles cocktail hotspots Harvard & Stone and the Spare Room. Vengroff, known throughout L.A. for her playful craft cocktails, has created a new cocktail list with offerings like the bell pepper infused Highway to Bell, the Picnic made with watermelon, tequila, St. Germain and Mezcal, and the Lost on Sunset, a mix of blanco tequila, pineapple, lime, tonic and celery bitters.
An open-air eatery by day and party destination by night, Hyde Kitchen and Cocktails will open Thursday through Saturday for dinner service, transforming back into the trendy Hyde nightclub after hours to help usher in the next generation of social media stars. And with the simultaneous relaunch of Bennifer 2.0, the possibilities are endless. To make reservations and for more information visit www.sbe.com/nightlife/hyde/hyde-sunset.
